T.O.V.A. test.

Attention assessment

Test of Variables of Attention — a computer-based, objective and standardised assessment of attention and impulsivity.

Objective attention measurement in 21.5 minutes.

What is T.O.V.A.

T.O.V.A. is a neutral test, independent of language and culture. It is based on a task that requires sustained attention to visual stimuli — which allows an objective, numerical measurement of several dimensions of attention.

The result is a detailed report that we compare with norms for age and sex. It serves as input for a professional assessment and as a baseline for tracking progress through neurofeedback.

Four dimensions of attention.

What we measure
01

Inattention

Percentage of missed targets — an indicator of how often a person "drops out" of focus on the task.

02

Impulsivity

Number of incorrect responses to non-targets — an indicator of difficulty inhibiting an automatic response.

03

Reaction time

Average time from stimulus to response — a measure of information processing speed.

04

Variability

Consistency of responses — how even the responses are throughout the entire test.
